There are no fixed rules but a one-size-fit all approach will not work when determining the best solution for a CCTV network design in Singapore. The first thing to consider is the key network requirements for the network. This solution will tend to focus on a new IP network design or a design based on an existing analog surveillance system. When installing an IP based surveillance system, the system must provide sufficient bandwidth and redundancy in case of system failure. The video feed captured by cameras must be digitalized and compressed if the goal is to minimize the bandwidth requirements of the system. The design of the system must also be able to accommodate any future increase in bandwidth utilization. However, all this may not be possible if you do not choose the right CCTV installation experts. Going for the right installers who are licensed and genuine will guarantee you the best results.
The following are some of the reasons why you should choose us for your:
1. We Know the Requirements Of A Typical CCTV surveillance Network
There are no fixed rules but a one-size-fit all approach will not work when determining the best solution for a CCTV network design. The first thing we consider is the key network requirements for the network. This solution will tend to focus on a new IP network design or a design based on an existing analog surveillance system. When installing an IP based surveillance system, we make sure that the system must provide sufficient bandwidth and redundancy in case of system failure. The video feed captured by cameras must be digitalized and compressed if the goal is to minimize the bandwidth requirements of the system. We always ensure that the design of the system is able to accommodate any future increase in bandwidth utilization. The nature of workstation we install in the surveillance system are able to monitor up to 16 live video streams captured from individual cameras.
2. We have a Fool Proof System that Ensures Successful Server Installation
Our successful installed surveillance is able to offer comprehensive video surveillance which is coupled with exceptional flexibility in order to minimize future scaling costs. We prefer to install an IP based CCTV surveillance network instead of the traditional analog system. This is because of the numerous advantages that an IP based CCTV surveillance has over traditional analog CCTV surveillance.
These advantages are as follows:
a) The digital cameras used in an IP based system offer greater resolution compared to traditional analog cameras. Digital cameras offer up to 5 times better resolution. This means the digital camera we install are able to show greater detail and hence more effective in surveillance.
b) It is possible to view real time footage from an IP based CCTV surveillance system that we have installed. The only provision is that the location has internet access. This is referred to as remote access. This is not possible with an analog system unless the video is first digitalized, compresses and then stored on an online server.
c) The IP based surveillance systems that we install are able to make instant use of advanced analytics, which allow for greater detail to be obtained from video feeds. Our IP based surveillance systems can therefore used for face recognition, number plate recognition and other security sensitive applications.
d) The digital cameras we install with our IP based systems allow for power over Ethernet, which means only one cable is needed for both powering and transmitting the video. This is why our CCTV surveillance systems are easy to install and maintain.
e) Due to the high speed of transmission and processing in addition to individual camera identification, it is easy to scale up an IP based CCTV surveillance system that we have installed from a few cameras to hundreds.
f) Our IP CCTV surveillance systems offer ease of redundancy in that it is possible to simultaneously transmit the video to the NVR and also record the feed on an SD card installed on the camera.
g) The digital cameras we use make it possible to view footage with no degradation of the image with zooming, while analog footage becomes hard to zoom after it is compressed.
The Steps We Use for Successful IP-Based CCTV Surveillance System Installation
1. Upgrading An Analog System
In order to minimize costs it might be necessary for us to retain some of the analog cameras that are part of a client’s analog system. In order for us to effectively incorporate the analog cameras to a newer IP based system, we connect the analogue cameras to Network Video Recorders. The NVRs carry out the function of digitalizing, compressing and transmit the digitalized feed over the network. However, we make sure that the retained cameras are not in security sensitive areas.
2. The Desired Network Design
In some scenarios we are not required to come up with a new network design if the client desires only to upgrade an existing analog CCTV network. However, if a client did not have surveillance before, our team of experienced security experts use their skills to come up with a custom design.
Some of the considerations we make include:
• The total number of camera needed to fully cover the area in question
• The number of work stations needed in the operations control center(OCC) to manage the video feeds from the installed cameras
• The redundancy measures to be implemented
We always make sure the network design that is to be implemented is flexible enough to allow future scaling up of the system as well as being able to accommodate increased bandwidth requirements.
3. Redundancy
The digital cameras that are part of our IP based surveillance system offer one form of redundancy in that the video feed is stored on an SD card that is part of the system. A second level of redundancy is realized by allowing work stations to store video feeds prior to transmission to the main server. Third level of redundancy is achieved by storing a third copy of the video feed in this final server. The video should be stored in a compressed format to minimize the storage requirements. It is worth noting that storage on the camera and work station must be frequently cleared due to the limited storage capability. 24hour, 365 day storage is only possible with the main server.
4. Advanced Technologies
Our IP based CCTV surveillance systems offers the advantage of instant integration with advanced surveillance software otherwise not possible with analog systems. This software is capable of turning a passive surveillance system into an active one through the use of such features as face and number plate recognition.
5. Choosing The Network Camera
It is necessary to install cameras that can offer the desired functionality. Some of these desired functionalities include the following:
• The ability of the camera to pan, tilt and zoom
• Cameras that are water resistant for outdoor applications
• Cameras that are vandal proof for application in public areas such as parking lots, play grounds and so forth.
The desired application will determine the features of the cameras that are chosen. Our successfully installed IP based surveillance system is therefore a system that is easily scalable, cost friendly and easy to use.
