Cons on HD CCTV IP camera surveillance system
Limited distance:
The biggest drawback of your IP camera surveillance system is that it is work at a limited distance only. Normally maximum distance for a HD CCTV surveillance system is only 100 meters and if you want to extend the network limit, then you will need to use a repeater for this. However, this extension and repeater will reduce the speed of your surveillance and you may get some problem also with it.
Need optimum light:
In analogue HD CCTV surveillance system if you have some less light, then also it can work for you and you can get good pictures with it. But, this is not the case with IP camera and you need to have optimum light to get better videos with it. So, we can say this is a very big drawback of this system and you need to have optimum light for same.
More vulnerable: If you want to hack into analogue surveillance system, then you will need to get physical access to your network. Also, that will not be easy to hack and you will need to do so many connection to hack into old style HD CCTV surveillance system. But this is not that much tough with IP camera surveillance system because if your security system is not very strong, then hackers can easily get access to your network and they can access your video feed as well.
Hard to identify the problem:
If you get any problem in your network or IP camera surveillance system, then it becomes very hard to identify the actual problem. I am saying this because you can have problem in cable, switch, router, repeaters or at any other part of your network. Also, if you have some extra load in your network then also you can have some lagging in the video feeds from all of your surveillance cameras.
Extra Load on your network:
This is one of those drawbacks that not only create problem in your IP camera network, but it can create so many issues in your existing network as well. This continuous feed of video from your network will create bottle necking and this issue will slow your entire network. That means if you have a slow network such as 100mb network then this option might not be the best solution for you.
